Dynamite announces eco-friendly packaging for nutritional products

PKBR Staff Writer Published 22 February 2012

Dynamite Specialty Products, a company specialized in animal nutrition has created environment-friendly packaging and a new logo for its natural nutritional products, in partnership with Foerstel Design in Boise.

The newly designed logo uses a typeface, Solex black italic, in an earthy color palette. The logo system was further developed to include interchangeable graphics for different product lines.

The graphic 'D' of the logo contains a stylized leaf that is meant to reinforce the company's organic and natural emphasis in its products and the label was designed to have a nostalgic feel to represent Dynamite's longevity in the animal and human supplementation world.

Dynamite in the US has also replaced its plastic containers with multi-walled kraft bags made of recyclable paper and sewn at the top. The bags, which will break down in the recycling process have an earth-friendly moisture and grease barrier that is safe for animals.

The company developed space-efficient packaging and cut the overall weight of its packaging by at least 300%, resulting in reduced shipping costs and reduced use of fossil fuels.

Dynamite's new five-pound bag weighs only 1.6oz while the 25-pound bucket weighed 1.95 pounds, and the new bag only 3.2oz.
