The European Federation of Wooden Pallet and Packaging manufacturers (FEFPEB) has announced the launch of a new campaign to promote the use of wood as the raw material for pallets and packaging.

The campaign, 'Packaging from Nature', aims to promote the economic and environmental benefits of timber use in packaging and pallets, compared with alternative materials such as plastics, reported packagingeurope.com.

The campaign has been launched in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, and the UK.

The campaign aims to targeting packaging users and decision makers actross the packaging industry, FEFPEB said.

To help provide information about timber's environmental benefits, a website has also been launched.

FEFPEB president Gil Covey said the launch of a Europe-wide campaign is great news for the European timber packaging and pallets industry. Timber is the first choice in the manufacture of these essential products because it more eco friendly.
