UK’s Bio-D launches new recycled packaging

PKBR Staff Writer Published 08 January 2018

Cleaning brand Bio-D has introduced new packaging, which was developed by using UK post-consumer waste.

The company, which manufactures over 20 products ranging from washing up liquid to floor cleaner, has launched new packaging to reduce the use of plastic packaging.

The packaging will enable to decrease the amount of waste in landfill, in addition to reducing the overall energy consumption by restricting the use of virgin plastics.

Bio-D is using the new packaging for most of its products, and is planning to launch its entire range in new packaging by the end of this year.

Bio-D managing director Lloyd Atkin said: “The issue of plastic waste is always high on the green agenda, as the amount that the world’s population collectively uses and wastes currently shows no sign of slowing, sadly.”

“At Bio-D, we’re passionate about making products that ‘don’t cost the earth’ and want to lead by example in helping to make a difference; this is consistent across all of our production processes, from the ingredients we use in our detergents to how we make our bottles.”

Founded in 1989, Bio-D manufactures a range of hypoallergenic and vegan friendly products by using sustainable and naturally-derived raw materials.

The company produces products such as sanitising hand wash, washing powder, laundry bleach and laundry liquid.

Its products are free from synthetic fragrances, preservatives and enzymes. Bio-D said its products are approved by Cruelty Free International and the Vegan Society.
